All normal classes at UFAI will be CLOSED this weekend, Sat & Sun, April 20-21st. As we are hosting the knife control concepts KCC Weekend VT. Starting next Sat April 27th, Sat Muay Thai class will switch to a 2hr session 11am - 1pm.
This year is my 40 year martial arts anniversary; 84' TKD, 90' JJJ, 96'/97' Muay Thai, (09' BJJ very sporadically). Thank you to dmac, eventhough it is no longer open, for allowing cross-training in the arts even way back with Sensei Annis, (may he RIP). Six instructors have now left before me along this journey and one 30+ year best friend & training partner, in three different martial arts. As most of my students are aware; approx two years ago, (Feb 16, 2022), I passed my evaluation for promotion to 7th Dan (Shichidan). This came after 32 years of studying & teaching JJJ at that time, (34 years at the time of this post). ***We are currently working/in communications with a new JJJ association and we should have more details & an announcement to come very soon*** I am honored to be presented with my belt tonight by my wife, Sensei Debra Ballard and my teachers/students/friends; Prof(s). Mike DesRosiers, Lucas John, Dennis Sherman, Sensei Jon Calderone, Bill & Rex. The term Samurai comes from the word "Saburau", which means "to serve". Although I am no longer "in-the-service" of our Military due to injuries, I will continue to serve by training others as long as I am able to do so. Respect & Honor to all my Sensei(s) & Master Instructor(s) that have passed on before me. ![]()

Monday 04/08/24 UFAI will be CLOSED, due to the Eclipse & travel conditions. Multiple roads in different towns/cities will be closed or temporarily closed. The airport is completely booked, as is Enterprise. So we will not be holding classes. Apologies in advance & we hope to see everyone Tuesday 04/09/24! Safe Travels 🥊
